Tonto Dikeh was expected to be on the performance
list alongside Kennis Music act, Capital Femi at the Best of Nollywood
awards held last Sunday, but who would blame the poor actress turned singer
whose introductory singles were not warmly received by music lovers.
Most of her fans however thought her performance
at BON awards would have been a proper platform to further stamp her
feet and prove her critics wrong that she is not only a singer but also a
performer. But as usual, she disappointed them again.
The 27 year-old POKO queen was nowhere to be found close to the event venue. While canvassing for votes, ex-BBA winner and TV show
host, Uti Nwachukwu had vowed to kiss her on stage if they won the
award, but after they were declared winner for the Most Kiss Nigerian Movie of the Year for their role in "Broken Silence", she was still missing.
Sources
confirmed what we thought was her reason for absence as they disclosed
it was not unconnected with the negative reactions that trailed her
recently released songs.
